... that's just how much juice it uses from the mains - it's the output voltage/current you need, lots of scanners are 12V DC at around 500mA (0.5A), check the label again! Need a description of the connector too..... Had great entertainment with a HP scanner, 24v and some completely weird connector.

Are All Scanners This Annoying?
I'm looking at the following: - HP S20 slide scanner ($699 CDN) - HP 5300C flatbed scanner ($299 CDN) - Canoscan D660U flatbed scanner ($230 CDN) Question #1: Since I'll be scanning negatives not slides, will the negatives scan better with the S20 than the photos on the flatbeds?

CanoScan Scanner and iMac
Easy to set up and use and does a wonderful job scanning in photos and negatives. Wont get the quality of a full fledged negative scanner but does good enough for me. I have mine calibrated with the x-rite color system and use it alot with photoshop. It easily creates PDF files from scans as well if you need that.
